I did this a few months ago for Dragon Magazine. Or was it Dungeon? Again, I should really look that up.

This is an Avenger-type casting the Glaring Admonition spell, which does sound like an awfully fun thing to do.

I don't know if you're planning on altering this at all, but the symbol being in front of the light looks like an easy fix. I think if you just had a small point of light coming from where the pupil would be on the eye, it wouldn't obstruct the symbol too bad and it would set the character in the background more than he currently is.

You may not want to mess around with it anymore though. I know you're a busy ninja.

Thanks for the good thoughts. I'll probably leave it as-is for now though. Actually I kind of liked the indistinct power-source, sort of coalescing outside of the eye, but now that two people have mentioned it as a problem I should think about that approach!
